EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. Rather than focusing on talking through every detail of a difficult event, EMDR uses guided eye movements (or other forms of bilateral stimulation) to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they stop feeling as raw and overwhelming.
Janet Nicholas, MA, LPC, LCDC, offers EMDR therapy to individuals, teens, and families in Magnolia, TX and the surrounding Woodlands, Tomball, and Spring communities.
Who EMDR Can Help
EMDR is widely used to treat post-traumatic stress, anxiety, panic, grief and loss, and distressing memories that continue to affect daily life. It can be a helpful complement to the other counseling approaches Janet offers, including Christian counseling, equine assisted therapy, and canine therapy.
