Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential method of psychotherapy. It is unique in that horses are incorporated into the therapy session as facilitators. A mental health provider and equine specialist work with the client(s) and horses through various tasks or assignments to address a variety of issues. All exercises on done "on the ground" and no experience is required.

EAP can be used to assist with a variety of issues such as: addictions, anxiety, anger, attention deficit disorder, abuse, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias and trauma. EAP can also be used to challenge assertiveness, confidence, responsibility, relationships and communication.

EAP can be used with individuals, families or groups.

Partnerships are created with individual therapists and treatment programs to create and customize adjunct EAP services for their client(s).
